October!  Time for colorful falling leaves, the Great Pumpkin and trick-or-treating!  Here at Brilliant Smiles, we love the change of seasons…so much so that I’ve been inspired to post an autumn-themed blog/email…don’t you feel fortunate?

Did you enjoy trick-or-treating as a child?  The anticipation of all of the candy, the shouts of delight when it was a king-sized Hershey’s Bar and the groans of disappointment when it was a fun-sized Almond Joy?  The memories!  Let’s face it.  Going to the dentist will never be as much fun as watching “It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown” or dressing up as Mr. T.  But isn’t it awesome when your hygienist compliments you on how great your teeth look after a routine check-up?  Or your dentist finds a potential problem before it becomes a frightening expense?  Speaking of hygienists and keeping with the fall theme, October is Dental Hygienist month.  So why not join in the celebration and if you are in need of a dental cleaning make that appointment today!  Better yet, if you have an appointment already, do your best to keep it.  Sure…we understand things happen.  But nothing transforms our happy, smiling hygienists into scary, broomstick-flying witches more than patients who casually and routinely miss appointments…so much so that the previously mentioned patients might suddenly find their ruby slippers missing from their closet.  Plus…you know it’s just plain better for you and your oral health to visit and chat with your hygienist at least twice a year, right?   (No playing dumb allowed in our blog!)

So help us celebrate!  Jump in a pile of leaves.  Decorate a pumpkin.  Schedule that dental cleaning today…then give your hygienist a hug!  And remember what the creepy crooked teeth pumpkin meme stated…“Scary things come to those who do not brush.”
